2013Today is Mother’s Day in North America and on this occasion I’d like to share a portrait of my beautiful mother that I took on New Year’s Eve of this year. She has the most beautiful eyes, I just wish she passed them on to me; sharing is caring Mom!!

2013With the beginning of the NHL playoffs tonight, I thought I’d post an image of a hockey fan sporting a playoff beard. Its a tradition that hockey players don’t shave during the playoffs, the further they advance the longer their beard grows. I’m not a real hockey fan but I was excited to find out that my hometown team (Toronto Maple Leafs) made the playoffs as I’m sure that its been quite sometime since they’ve had playoff hockey.

2013An image of one the Los Angeles Kings Ice Crew which are the responsible for cleaning the ice slush from the rink when the play stops during a hockey game. The story goes something like this: The Los Angeles Kings were struggling for attendance after “The Great One” aka Wayne Gretzky was traded to the New York Rangers, a few years later someone in marketing decided that having pretty girls showing off a lot of skin would appeal to the audience; it is Los Angeles after all! Personally I didn’t notice them until my friend told me the story, during the breaks I usually look for interesting people in the audience to photograph. In this particular case, the Ice Crew girl thought I wanted to take a picture of her while I was scanning the crowd through my viewfinder so she stopped and smiled for me and I felt like I really had to take the picture

2013Here is another image from the hockey game that I attended on Saturday in Los Angeles, this time its a Canucks fan while the two teams were warming up. She is wearing a retro jersey (that was the Vancouver Canucks logo back when I was a child growing up in Canada) and with that wig I thought she looked very unique and deserved a picture. Her Husband/boyfriend had the away jersey (in black) with similar wig, he was too far and I didn’t want to chase them around the rink
The “Like” Button
And for all my wordpress.com readers, the folks at automattic have finally decided to add the Like feature to the jetpack plugin, this means the “like” button is back on the website and I turned it on since that is my #1 asked question: where is the like button?

2013I was cleaning up my hard drive and I realized that I took this picture of this lovely couple, Ali & Jasmine, during the holiday season in Toronto while having Sushi but I forgot to give it to them. Since it is Valentine’s day I thought it was fitting to go with a picture of a couple who just recently got married

2013A portrait of my good friend Mina Mahdi. I took this image of her during this past Christmas break, it was the first time I saw her since she cut her hair and I insisted on taking a picture of her which luckily for me she accepted. Mina will be leaving Toronto in a day (if my memory serves me correctly!) and will be embarking on a new journey in Qatar. I wanted to dedicate this blog post to wish her all the best in her new adventure

This is an image of Mike Fletcher, the diver from the Discovery Channel’s show Sea Hunters. I was sitting at the airport bar watching the Olympics until I had to board my first flight to make way back to San Diego; a gentlemen asked me if I didn’t mind him sitting in the chair beside me and I obviously said no so he sat there and we started to chat about the differences between Canadian beer and American beer and why light beer seems to sell the US yet it hardly exists in Canada! While we were chatting I thought he looked familiar but

2012Today is Father’s day in North America, not sure if the rest of the world celebrates on the same day if at all! This is a portait of my father that I took back in Christmas.
Like many, I attribute a lot of what is good in me to my parents, they sacrificed a lot in our upbringing and I’m just glad that I got old enough to understand and appreciate what they’ve done for us (me & my brothers). Just wanted to wish a happy Father’s day to all the great dad’s out there, specially though to my own hero, my father

2012Today is an end of an era, my cousin’s time in the US is up as he leaves San Diego for good. He is heading back home to Sweden after earning his Bachelors in Business, I always knew he’d leave after graduating but I was hoping he would stick around for a bit longer. This is a portrait of him this past weekend, it was his last day at my place so I let him smoke indoors
To tell the truth I’ve had this shot in mind for a long time and I procrastinated for too long, I left it until the very last day and I had to go with a quick setup. Anyway, he’ll be missed and I wish him the very best in his future in Sweden…
