2012Once a year our huge IT group has a team building event; for the last 2 years its been held at Mission Bay. Last year I just happened to have my camera on me and I volunteered to take some picture of the event, after that I was asked to be the official photographer of the event this year and I couldn’t have been happier
The whole idea behind the even is to spend half a day at the bay doing a BBQ, playing games and socializing. Consider how huge our group is there is an actual even planning group that takes care of this: they setup all the events for the day to make sure that there is something for everyone.

2012I’ve been asked lately about the HDRs that I do and how I do them, instead of responding to the individual e-mails and comments I figured I’d do a series of posts over time and this is the first instalment. First off, let’s be honest over here: I’m not a professional and I don’t think I’m that good; I do think that I’ve improved a lot over time though
I do appreciate all the kind comments so with all the humility I figured I’d share the knowledge. But as the saying goes: “Give a man a fish; you have fed him for today. Teach a man to fish; and you have fed him for a lifetime”, I don’t want this to be a recipe type of “knowledge sharing” so its only appropriate to start with why use the technique to begin with.

2012Technically this is not a tunnel so the title is not applicable but you get where I’m going with this
I love symmetrical pictures, I tend to see them or look for them everywhere and with the sun being right down the middle, it was too good to resist. This was a small dock in Mission Bay, San Diego… Happy Tuesday

2012I was walking around Mission Bay trying to find a good vantage point to take some sunset shots from; I noticed this pipe with two poles sticking above it from a distance which I thought was odd. When I got close to it the sign it said something along the lines of don’t touch the water or come in contact with it. It was a sewer pipe dumping our waste into the bay, I thought it would be interesting contrast with the beautiful sunset going on behind
