Moving Walkway

Abstract, Airport, B&W, black & white, horizontal escalator, monochrome, Movator, Moving Walkway, Terminal 1, Toronto Pearson Airport

A moving walkway can definitely save tired travellers a lot of energy by covering the long distances of today’s super terminals. I took this image from knee level and focused on the people in the far distance with a larger aperture (f/4.5), this was to soften the foreground and draw the eyes to the background. I tried to take another one with more of the foreground in focus (f/16) but a herd of people came into the frame and I couldn’t see an end to them, I had to get to my gate at one point :) . This was taken in Toronto’s Pearson International Airport (Terminal 1) on one of my many trips back home.

Weekly Photo Challenge: Geometry

black & white, monochrome, Ocean Beach, Ocean Beach Fishing Pier, San Diego, Symmetry, Vanishing Point

For this week’s entry I’m going with the Ocean Beach Fishing Pier. I just squatted down for this image and made sure that I was right down the middle to get all my lines parellel :)

Balboa Park Activity Center

Arches, Architecture, B&W, Balboa Park, Balboa Park Activity Center, black & white, monochrome, San Diego

I really wanted to do an HDR of this image and I actually started out by doing so but after looking at what was really going on I didn’t think it was fitting or at least I didn’t like it. The place looks deserted and hasn’t been used in quite some time, the sign that says “Balboa Park Activity Center” has gunk on it! I thought the monochrome was more fitting for the scene.

Customer Service

Abstract, B&W, black & white, Customer Service, monochrome, Washington Dulles Aiport

One of the many customer service booths setup by United in Washington/Dulles Airport. I took this shot on my way back to San Diego after spending my summer vacation with my family up in Toronto, I could definitely use another trip to visit the family!

On the rise

One of Toronto’s many high rise towers, they seem to be going up every corner of the city. This one in particular though has been there as far as I can remember which dates back to 1990!

In the Shadows

A shed/storage room behind around Balboa Park that caught my attention. I ended up walking right up to the fence and its a Canyon with about a 100-200 ft drop! Not sure what was the purpose of this shed then but ah well, great photography opportunity so I won’t complain. I decided to go with a monochrome version of this image.
