Weekly Photo Challenge: Foreign

Abu Dhabi, Collage, UAE

This is my entry for this week’s photo challenge, a collage of Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates. The place has changed so much over the years that I hardly recognize it, where there used to be water they have built man made land!

Victorian Architecture

Architecture, Cityscape, Downtown Toronto, HDR, Toronto, Victorian Arhcitecture If you’d like to buy a print of the image above click here or on the image itself

Victorian Architecture is very prevalent in downtown Toronto and thats probably due to the fact that Canada was a British Colony until it obtained its independence from Great Britian (not sure exactly when but I think its sometime in the last 20-30 years). This particular image is on the Northern edge of the University of Toronto Campus (Bloor St.), typically this is a very crowded area during the day and this was right after lunch time. I stood there for a while until I could get a “clear” view, sometimes photography is about practicing your patience :)

As an update to yesterday’s post,

Mississauga

Clouds, HDR, Landscape, Mississauga

A view of downtown Mississauga from my cousin’s balcony, this view was synonymous with this summer’s vacation as we typically started off the day by having a coffe in the balcony while making plans for the rest of the day. At least its the weekend and the weather is nice :)

Winners, Just Do It!

Nike Store, Street Photography, Toronto, Winners

I stood across the street trying to compose this shot and by the time I pressed the shutter I got lucky with my timing to come up with this image. I like how the bicycle is ahead of the car, its very fitting for the title: Winners, Just do it! They don’t whine and make excuses about what they have, they just do it :)

Innis Residence

An image of the Innis College Residence at the University of Toronto. Considering that the University of Toronto was founded in 1827 its pretty obvious that is one of the more modern residences on campus, back when I was enrolled there in the mid to late 90′s this was the hottest residence to get into. I on the other hand, commuted everyday from my parents house so I never got the residence experience and to be honest I’m not sure if I missed out!

Driving to the city

Another image of Downtown Toronto but this time it was out of a 2 door car with me in the backseat and using that really small window, it didn’t turn out too bad except for that car driving by on the highway! Here is a video

On the rise

One of Toronto’s many high rise towers, they seem to be going up every corner of the city. This one in particular though has been there as far as I can remember which dates back to 1990!

The Tower

One of Toronto’s most famous Landmarks, if not the most famous, the CN Tower. It was the world’s tallest standing structure for 34 years (from 1976 to 2010). I took this shot from the Rogers Center (previously known as skydome) when the roof was open during a Blue Jays game.
