Winners, Just Do It!

Nike Store, Street Photography, Toronto, Winners

I stood across the street trying to compose this shot and by the time I pressed the shutter I got lucky with my timing to come up with this image. I like how the bicycle is ahead of the car, its very fitting for the title: Winners, Just do it! They don’t whine and make excuses about what they have, they just do it :)

Its all about the light

I really got into photography about three years ago and one of the first things I said: “I want a DSLR that takes really nice pictures, with amazing saturated colors but I don’t need a professional camera!”. My friend told me at the time, buy a cheap camera, a good lens and learn how to capture light and thats how you will learn photography. I rolled my eyes and I stuck to my guns, light? I don’t want to be a pro, I just want to take nice pictures! Ironically, the roles are reversed now; when I get asked I preach the importance of light yet no one takes me seriously :)

After a year of shooting I started to notice the importance

Park & Recreation

A bench in Mission Bay that is maintained by the City of San Diego hence the engravement :) I thought the Palm trees with Interstate-5 behind a sign saying “San Diego” was very fitting for the city. Of course there are more significant & popular landmarks in the city but this one is probably more relevant for locals or frequent visitors to the city.

Standing Tall

An image of a really tall tree at Mission Bay around golden hour which really helped bring out all those vibrant greens & reds. To put how tall the tree is in perspective, compare it to the garbage bin which is around waist high for an average person!

Our Universities

No man should escape our universities without knowing how little he knows.
~J. Robert Oppenheimer

Don’t get me wrong, I’m a big advocate of education and I’m actually working on my grad degree. I just agree with the quote, the more I know the more I know there is more to know :)

Pink is Dead

An interesting setup that I found while waiting for my food during lunch, my friends were kind enough to wait for my to be ready so I excused myself for a 5 minute excursion around the block. We were grabbing some fish Tacos at a local fish market in La Jolla and I figured the back alley of the market would be interesting. It wasn’t exactly them, but whoever owns that unit is clearly sending a message out: “Pink is Dead”. I know a lot of the ladies won’t agree with this :)

Foucault Pendulum

This is an image of Foucault’s pendulum at the Griffith Observatory in Los Angeles. Foucault’s pendulum is basically a device that visually demonstrates that the earth rotates, the pendulum hanging from the ceiling of a standing structure is free to swing in any vertical plane. While the earth rotates the pendulum will appear to rotate relative to it yet in reality it is swinging in the same vertical plane. If you’re having a hard time visualizing it then check out this 30 seconds video on youTube, it doesn’t really explain the the concept it just demonstrates in super speed mode :)
