2012This in an image from my recent trip to Toronto, we went to a Blue Jays game against the Oakland Athletics. At one point while everyone was looking at the mound waiting for the pitcher to throw the ball I was thinking what a great photo opportunity this is

2012This is an image that I took prior to the first pitch being thrown between the Toronto Blue Jays and Oakland Athletics back in July of this year when I was in Toronto visiting. Luckily the weather was quite hot that day and the roof was open, which gave for a great backdrop for the image here
Sadly though, the Blue Jays lost that day 7-2 (July 24) and the following day was the worst loss in their franchise history: 16-0 also to the Athletics.

2012With today being the last day of the Olympics, I thought it would be fitting to have a picture of a track. This is the University of Toronto’s main stadium/track with the CN Tower and the Toronto skyline in the background. College sports in Canada are nothing compared to what they are in the US, lets just say getting tickets to a game is not something you concern yourself with

2012I typically post one photo a day or I try at least but today I thought I’d tell a story with pictures instead. I was really trying to practice my panning technique at the Del Mar racetrack but while waiting for the races to start I was taking some snaps; many months later I realized that I had documented the race without intending to do so. So here is the story of how the races go:

2011I took this image 2 weeks ago, I was lucky enough to go twice in the past 7 days. A friend of mine invited me to this particular game against the Kansas City Chiefs and then I went this past weekend to the game vs the Miami Dolphins. Luckily they won both games and my record at the Chargers game stands at 4-2, the game is so much more fun when the Chargers win

2011A friend of mine was kind enough to invite me to a Chargers game this past Sunday, the Chargers were playing the Kansas City Chiefs in the first divisional match for the Chargers this season. We got in touch with our other friend from work, who is a season ticket holder and we got to tailgate with him and his crew at Qualcomm Stadium. It was a lot of fun as we watched highlights from the other matches going on in the league, it was my first true tailgating experience so wasn’t really sure what happens. The best way to describe it is going to a picnic with your friends but outside the stadium, and just like when you go to any park: some groups are tame and some get out of control. Luckily our group and the people around us were all good fun folks

2011Today is the day that many NFL fans had been waiting for: the beginning of the season for their respective teams. Green Bay & New Orleans had already kicked off the season on Thursday night but today is when we get to see the excitement of the regular season in full effect with up to the minute updates and highlights of action around the league. Living in San Diego I can definitely feel Bolt Nation fever all around town, you can’t help but notice the conversation; personally I’m very excited about the season and quite optimistic about the Chargers chances at making a playoff run. Having said that, I don’t know any bigger fan than one of my colleagues at work; he’s an ~11 year season ticket holder and doesn’t miss a match. The above picture was taken a few minutes after the blackout on Thursday night, he was getting his gear ready and thats when the lights went out – no pun intended

2011This set of images is from a few weekends ago when we went to the Del Mar racetrack. Before each race starts they bring out the horses and do a few laps around a smaller “track”; initially they walk the horses by themselves for people to see them. Not really sure if there is an art to it or just better’s intuition but I heard a few guys talking about the way a horse was walking and it showed his confidence so they should put their money on him! Personally I was in awe of the horses beauty, they are so graceful in the way they walk and run. They have got to be one of the leanest animals also, they appear as if they are all muscle.

2011After all this time of living in San Diego, I finally made it to the Del Mar Racetrack. Never really understood the big fuss as I imagined it to be horse track full of gamblers but it does hold other events to keep everyone interested I guess
On this particular day it was a Ziggy Marley concert and we wanted to go early to make sure that we can get in, since we’ve never been we didn’t really understand how this whole thing worked. Once we got there, we just had to pay general admission and we could stay until the end of the day.
