I was inspired by your photos

That’s a great honor for me

I’ve heard good things about the San Diego Zoo. I tried to get some good photos at our Zoo, in Norfolk, but the heavy wire surrounding the enclosures prevented any clean shots.

The San Diego zoo is world famous, I was very impressed by the variety and its size. You can easily spend a whole weekend there as one day might not be enough. Not all animals are that easily accessible, specially the carnivores

Nice picture. I gave myself a birthday present of going to visit the San Diego Zoo in 1974. One of my most memorable birthdays!

You should come & visit again… I’m sure its changed quite a bit since then

I “should”, but getting past the LA area is scary. Actually I do have vague plans to visit friends who live in Big Sur. If you really want to get out into some gorgeous nature, that would be a great place to start and you’re not all that far from it.

Interesting. I’ve never heard of these animals before, so once again, I’ve learnt something today! Thanks!

Thank you for explanation, I wondered about the difference, does any of these or llamas have a hump?

My google search led me to the following conclusion: “Even though they are the same family as camels, they don’t have humps”

A very nice photo. I really like the quality of the back light. It feels like the pictures was captured on a crisp morning. Those guanacos are quite some special and beautiful animals.
