2012The ROM
This is the ROM (Royal Ontario Museum), Canada’s largest museum of world culture and natural history which is located in downtown Toronto. It is one of North America’s largest museums as it welcomes over a million visitors a year. It has more than six million items and around forty galleries with its most popular attraction probably being the dinosaur exhibit which is a huge hit with the kids.

What an unusual building… Stunning!

What a particular building! Makes me think about the ‘kubus woningen’ (cube houses) in Rotterdam – The Netherlands. Lovely photo especially because of the sky…frightening!!

Thanks for posting. We have a membership to the ROM and go often! This is a building many people love or hate and it always is a topic of conversation in Toronto.

Terrific shot. I like the perspective. You must have been out early. That’s usually a busy street.

I took it right after lunch on a Friday! This was one of probably 5 or 6 attempts… yes there were a lot of cars & people moving but I managed to find a quite 5 seconds somewhere in between all the mayhem

Great capture of a really neat structure!

I’ve nominated you to enter the ‘Capture the Colour’ competition. You’ll find the details on my latest post. It’s rather short notice, as entries have to be in by 29th August, but I’m sure you can do it. Good luck.

What a funky building. I didn’t visit it the four times I’ve been in Toronto and don’t even remember seeing pictures of it in all my Toronto guide books.
Paula
Nice effects in the sky with your wide angle lens… Is it allowed to take pics on the inside too?

I’m not sure Paula… shame on me, I lived there for 21 years and never once tried to go inside!! Living there, I always said there is next weekend until one weekend I took a one way trip to San Diego!!
