Context and composition in one shot. Love it!

Beautiful shot! What is it? Is it a place where you can barbeque?

The first time I came to San Diego in 1993, the freeways had (and still do) signs pointing to the beaches, so I just followed the signs, eventually winding up on the beaches in Mission Bay. There were fire pits everywhere, and people were having fires in them! I waited around until some people left and then I took over their fire pit and slept under the stars that night.

P.S. Karl in his comment says, “Great HDR.” That doesn’t look like HDR to me. If it is, it is the best I’ve ever seen because I don’t really like HDR although it’s on my list of subjectes to learn.

95%+ of my images here are HDRs… I’m trying to mix it up more but I always end up there for some reason
Russel Ray Photos
Well, then, yours are the first HDR pictures that I’m liking.
I just got accused over at Ugly Hedgehog of using HDR on my photo of Santa Fe 3751. I don’t do HDR yet because I don’t have the patience to carry a tripod with me to get at least three photos each time. lol
Karl
Once you get into HDR it will be easier to pick an HDR image. This is a very nicely processed HDR because it looks like it would if you were standing there. It would be much harder for a single exposure shot into the sun like this to end up like the one above.

My Santa Fe 3751 is a single exposure into the sun. I was so disappointed when I got home and looked at all the pictures, but I never throw anything away. Go look at it. It’s the third one down in my post here: http://russelrayphotos2.com/2012/05/13/santa-fe-3751-from-national-train-day-may-12-2012/
Does it look like HDR to you?
