2012Eye contact
This is an image of some kind of monkey at the San Diego Zoo. I love it when you get eye contact with an animal, I was going through some pics and I thought I had to post this one. I wonder if the he/she is caged for safety reasons or for fear of it escaping? I’m sure that there were some species of monkeys in the zoo that were free to roam their area and they didn’t seem to come towards the people so whats this guy’s story?! I’m hoping some monkey lover can help me identify it and solve this mystery
In the meantime, enjoy the weekend everyone.

It looks like he’s asking you to help him escape. You did a wonderful job of capturing him even through the fence.

I don’t know if he wants to give you a kiss or rip your face off. Good sharp photo.

That’s a lessert spot-nosed monkey (Cercopithecus petaurista), also called a lesser spot-nosed guenon, lesser white-nosed guenon, or lesser white-nosed monkey. They are fun to watch, especially in the morning when they have been fed. I also have some x-rated pictures of them. lol

I wish we could edit our comments on WordPress………
Anyway, it’s not a lessert spot-nosed monkey. It’s a lesser spot-nosed monkey. Darn fingers.
