2012Train track
An image of the train tracks of San Clemente train station. I spent quite a bit of time composing this image and trying to find the “right” height to shoot from, what I was going for was the tracks to ascend into the horizon while the palm trees descende into it forming a meeting spot at the bridge. I hope you enjoy today’s image.

It is amazing what a difference ‘angle’ can make to a picture. Nice shot!

Thank you for your kind words

You did a great job with this image! How many times did you need to jump out of the way, when the train was approaching?

I stood there for probably 15 minutes and luckily not a single train came by. There was a sign that said: “Absolutely no stopping on the tracks” and I felt like a jerk for ignoring it. I really want to be a good citizen but sometimes I break the rules for my love of photography

I think there’s a post in that – a documentation of all those risk-worthy moments!

Great shot! “Runaway train” just popped in my head. HA!

Vanishing point is what I learned today. Seriously, I didn’t know about that until today. I’m gonna try that in my next travel.

Great perspective… wonderful DOF… and for me at least, quite often the best height to shoot from is just as low to the ground as I can get
Can’t tell you how often I end up laying on the ground. I love this shot. And I think you got the composition just right.
